Throughout my entire life, I have always been one who loved to write. When I was in middle school I wrote many different novels, fanfics, and even participated in NANOWRIMO. But then my dad died. With him gone I lost my biggest cheerleader and my creative spark. Despite the efforts of my teachers, who tried to encourage me to write as a way to heal from the pain, I pushed it deeper and locked it away.

I went to college and pursued Environmental science at Allegheny College because that was the practical thing to do, but I was never happier than when I was playing D&D and writing character backstories. My DM gently encouraged me to write again, slowly coaxing me back into the creative space I once loved. With that push I slowly began to fly. As I shoved through the walls around my heart and poured my soul onto the page, I ended up writing one of my favorite novels. One of pain, joy, and self-discovery. A story that shows love isn’t easy, but when fought for, can be truly magical.
